The last two months have been particularly busy as I prepared for the Rocky Mountain Chapter Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (RMC-SCBWI) annual conference. Which for an illustrator means getting out the portfolio and going through all the work of the last year and selecting the best pieces for a portfolio. Quite a bit of preparation is needed, but, of course, I never allow myself much time to prepare. This year, at least, I wasn't up until the wee hours of the morning finishing a piece for the Calendar contest. Year by year I'm making progress! Here is this year's Calendar submission. Happily, my illustration was one of 12 (out of 38) illustrations voted on by 260 folks at the conference to be selected for the 2018-2019 RMC-SCBWI Calendar. I am thrilled!!!
